Where did Underoath come from, really? In 2004 their debut album ‘They’re Only Chasing Safety’ brought forth a storm of critical acclaim. It toyed with melodies, teased the audience and generally brought with it an air of things to come.
Those things are encapsulated with the debut track from their latest album, ‘In Regards To Myself’. Ferocious and rip-roaring from the outset, it doubles as the opening track from the album (Define The Great Line) which entered the US Billboard charts at number two, shifting an impressive 100,000 copies in a single week.
8.4 million plays on purevolume alone doesn’t lie. Few post-hardcore, dare I say it ‘screamo’ bands have even entered the American mainstream, let alone exploded into it like Underoath have, and going on the strength of this single, they will continue to hover around the top for awhile yet.
