For a long time now, a certain online community from the UK, of which I’m a member of (Think Absolutepunk for the UK) has been following the career of young Mr. Duckworth. Without fixing too much hyperbole onto the story, Sam, aka Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly is one of us. A young proletariat who has worked hard and earned his place on the top of the pop pile.
Following a brilliant 2006, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly releases a stunning new single, I Spy. The single, featuring a remix by Metronomy and an exclusive acoustic version of Get Cape’s recent top 40 single War Of The Worlds, will be available on CD, download, 7” and a special additional etched 7”.
I Spy is one of the many highlight tracks of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly’s critically and commercially successful debut album, The Chronicles Of A Bohemian Teenager. 2006 saw Sam Duckworth’s star in the ascendancy, combining a succession of critically acclaimed singles with a DIY masterpiece of an album that was recently certified silver, clocking up over 60,000 sales.
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly has kick started 2007 with a nomination for Best Solo Artist at the forthcoming NME Awards. He has just completed a sold out January headline tour culminating in his biggest headline show to date at London’s Astoria on his 21st birthday (30th January). Following appearances at South By South West and a US tour, Get Cape will then return to the UK for a six date headline tour. Tickets for the tour are available now.
