Enter Shikari are one of the few elite UK bands who have taken the record-industry handbook and thrown it straight in the bin. Selling out the 2000 capacity London Astoria without a record deal and spending their entire fee for the night on a top of the range laser lighting rig, it quickly becomes obvious that Enter Shikari are doing something important right now; and re-writing the rulebook is only the half of it.
‘Anything Can Happen In The Next Half Hour’ is the new single from the motley bunch of Londoners and true to the hype, it’s a screamtastic soaring melodic monster of a track. Laced with synth, it’s a gutsy, balls-out assault on a genre already saturated with sub-par contemporaries.
Having shunned the big-money major label deals and chosen to go it alone, Enter Shikari are continuing their already ingrained tradition of forging their own paths into music domination. If you haven’t heard of Enter Shikari yet, give it a few months. 2007 may just be the Year of The Shikari.
