Did you know KoRn are still making music? I certainly didn\u2019t. Once upon a time I would undoubtedly have considered myself a KoRn fan. Although to be fair this was many, indeed more than I care to admit years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In their hey-day, KoRn could fill arenas. The world was at their feet and their brand of \u201cnu-metal\u201d ruled the world. Come on, all of us of age will remember Family Values and the great rivalry between Jonathon \u201cKorn\u201d Davis and Fred \u201cLimp Bizkit\u201d Durst. It all seems so long ago, doesn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bands new single Evolution<\/strong> , the first to be taken from the bands new as yet untitled eighth studio album is\u2026 everything you\u2019d expect from KoRn, but unfortunately little more. I remember when Follow The Leader gave way to Issues. My liking for the band had waned somewhat and I found them rather unfashionable, but the moment Issues slammed through my stereo I rediscovered a love for them. Maybe it was the energy and relatable anger Issues put across, but it was exciting. It was different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2026which I guess is what\u2019s so disappointing about Evolution<\/strong>. With the related spiel front man Jonathon Davis has attached to this single, it could have been great. Nay, it SHOULD<\/strong> have been great. But it isn\u2019t. It\u2019s mediocre, and uncharacteristically so. Rumour has it, it\u2019s in the live performance. Until I see it for myself, I\u2019m sceptical.
